1. Direction and Identity
Our own sense of our identity is the seat upon which everything else is built. It is:
‘This is who I am’
For those of us that struggle with this statement, who are not sure of it, fearful of it, ashamed of it, uninspired by it, at the mercy of it… consider this:
‘What if you can change your identity?’
What if I can choose to be who I want to be?’
Whether you believe we are born with it or learn it, what matters is entertaining the idea that: It can change if it not serving us.
A good starting point to examine who we are is to examine the stories we tell ourselves when we do things, the most prominent tend to be destructive habits:
‘I have done it again, this confirms that I am…’
Consider the story we tell ourselves and whether that ‘fits’ with the person we want to be. If it doesn’t, consider the idea of changing the story:
‘The person that I want to be would not do this.’
